2018 USLF Breed Evaluation Tour
Watch the USLF Facebook page, website, and the USLF NEWS, for more information as it becomes available.
Although the details are still unfolding, the USLF Breeders Committee wishes to announce the 2018 Breed Evaluation Tour will be held in October at four locations across the USA. The USLF Board of Directors will hold the 2018 Annual Meeting, in conjunction with the New York evaluation. Klemen Turk, DVM and Breeding Director of the Lipica Stud Farm in Slovenia will give a breeding seminar at each of the evaluation sites. There is so much to learn about our amazing Lipizzans, their movement, conformation, and the history surrounding them.
You are all encouraged to attend an evaluation and/or seminar even if you are not a breeder or a judge. Thank you to our host farms for inviting members and horses to these valuable events. Further information about Klemen is below.
Our Lipizzan International Federation recognized senior judge will be Klemen Turk, Breeding Director of the Lipica (Lipizzan) Stud Farm in Slovenia. Klemen is a veterinarian educated at the University of Lubljana. Before becoming Breeding Director, he worked for the agriculture department of Slovenia. As part of his job, he evaluated all other horse breeds except Lipizzans. His family has been involved in the breeding of Lipizzans for many years and is active in the Slovene Private Breeders Association.
Klemen is a dressage rider, but his real love is driving his home-grown pair of Lipizzan geldings. In fall of 2017, he qualified for and represented his country in the World Cup Driving Championships.
